AURORA | Police are looking for two men who tried to kidnap a woman from outside an Aurora bar last week.
The incident happened around 11:20 p.m. Oct. 16 outside a bar at East Florida Avenue and South Chambers Road, police said.
A woman told police she parked her car and was walking into the bar when a small white car with two men inside pulled up alongside her.
The driver asked the woman for directions and while she spoke to him, the passenger got out of the car and approached her from behind, the woman told police. The passenger then tried to put a towel over the woman’s mouth, but she fought back, knocking the man to the ground before running inside the bar.
Police described the driver as a clean-cut white or possibly Hispanic man between 22 years old and 30 years old. The passenger was also a clean-cut white or Hispanic man, similar age, and stands between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, police said.
Surveillance video from a nearby business captured some of the incident and police on Sunday released a picture of the suspect vehicle.
Investigators don’t believe the incident is connected to any others, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information on the case to call Detective T. Williams at 303-739-6709 or Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). They can also send a text message tip to 274637, with the letters “DMCS” in the message. Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward and the Aurora Police Reward Fund is offering $2,000, police said.
