AURORA | Voters this fall will decide whether to add casino-style gaming to the Arapahoe Park Race Track in Aurora after state election officials Monday approved more than 80,000 signatures from backers.
The measure, which would allow 2,500 slot machines and 65 gaming tables at the southeast Aurora track, will appear on the ballot as Amendment 68.
Backers, which include the Rhode Island casino company that owns the racetrack, say $100 million in revenue from the facility each year will go to public and charter schools.
Opponents, which include Colorado casino operators, say the measure would crush gaming in towns like Blackhawk and Central City.

This initiative is evil. Schools, my ass. This is about enriching a small (tiny) group of people.
