AURORA | The Aurora City Council voted to hold all its three parts of its Monday, Nov. 4 meeting virtually, to accommodate the upcoming election.
The decision came after concerns were raised about the logistical challenges of holding in-person meetings while the county was using the city’s Aurora Room for election purposes.
Councilmember Alison Coombs noted the need to avoid disrupting the voting process.
The council voted 8-3 to conduct the Nov. 4 executive session, work session and regular meeting entirely online.
Additionally, the council approved allowing one hour of virtual public comment for general public input and comments on agenda items. This required suspending the normal council rules, which had previously required in-person attendance for public comment.
Residents will be able to call in or join online to provide input during the designated public comment period.
