AURORA | One person was listed in serious condition after a shooting Tuesday night, March 15, in a parking lot outside the Town Center at Aurora.

Aurora police said they are investigating a shooting that happened around 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot near the J.C. Penney store at the mall. One victim was taken to a local hospital and listed in serious condition.

Police originally tweeted after the shooting that one suspect was in custody and another at large, but APD later clarified that they were not looking for a second suspect beyond the one already apprehended.

Crime scene investigators began wrapping up their processing of the scene just after 9:20 p.m., with numerous shoppers waiting to move their vehicles from the scene of the shooting.

Neither the name of the victim nor the suspect have been released at this time.
