AURORA | An unidentified girl was injured Tuesday from a “grazing” gunshot wound outside an apartment complex in the 100 block of Joliet Circle, police said.
Officers were called to the parking lot of Joliet at Lowry complex at about 5:30 p.m. after reports of a shooting there.
“Once officers arrived they found one juvenile female nearby the original call location,” Aurora police spokesperson Gabby Easterwood said in a statement. “She has sustained one non-life-threatening grazing gunshot wound.”
Officers searching the area said they discovered “multiple gun shell casings” and that a car nearby the area where the girl was shot had gunfire damage.
“No arrests have been made at this time and a suspect description is not available for release,” Easterwood said.
Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
