AURORA | Aurora police said a shooting that injured two and killed one juvenile Friday night at an Aurora apartment complex was the result of an attempted robbery.

Aurora police held a midday Saturday press conference to provide details of the shooting, which happened late Friday at an apartment complex on the 400 block of South Kalispell Way just north of Alameda Avenue.

Investigators said that a group of men were moving into the complex on Kalispell when a group of individuals approached them and demanded money from them at gunpoint.

Police said one of the men helping with the move pulled out a gun after being threatened and fired at the group that attempted to rob them.

One of the robbery suspects — a juvenile male — died after being taken to a local hospital. A second suspect also suffered a gunshot wound and also was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe at least one other suspect was shot during the incident and remains at large.

The names of the robbery suspects and the individual who fired at them have not been released at this time.

  1. It sounds like a case of self-defense. Armed robbers are taking on a severe risk to themselves as many folks out there conceal carry.

  2. Read about this in the Brit publication, The Daily Mail. The third suspect has been arrested after he sought medical attention at a local hospital. The DM also gave details that are left out of this article. Sad that Americans have to “go international” to get at the truth these days and yet the American media wonders why people increasingly dislike and distrust them. Notice this article mentions that one of the perps is a juvie. Just like our wonderful agenda-driven media to try and make the aggressors out to be mere babies gone astray. Babies who will kill you over a dollar.

    1. You have to realize the Aurora Sentinel is not a ‘real’ newspaper in the sense of professional journalistic standards and resources. They do not have the staffing to update breaking news stories, especially on weekends.

  4. Sounds like idiots should not attempt robbery in Aurora. Many Aurorans are armed as they go about their business. I hope the other suspects enjoy their life sentences for murder.
