AURORA | Time for Colorado Democrats to elect new party officers, and two well-known local politicos are running for statewide party positions.
Naquetta Ricks, an Aurora Central High School graduate, unsuccessfully ran for CU Board of Regents 6th CD seat in November, just coming up shy. Nancy Cronk, a longtime southeast Aurora resident, lost the House District 37 race last fall to Republican Jack Tate. Both Aurora women are running for vice-chair positions on the state committee.
Dems will meet at the Marriott City Center Feb. 28 to elect a two-year slate of officers.
Running for party chairman are Rick Palacio, Vic Meyers and Dave Sabados. Palacio, from Pueblo, is running for re-election to the top party job.
