AURORA | Three teens have been charged with murder in connection with the June slaying of an Aurora teen outside a Taco Bell restaurant.
Calvin Banks, 18, Sterling Hook, 17, and Vincent Rucker, 16, all face murder and other charges stemming from the June 4 slaying of Mark Chalfant.
A spokeswoman for the Arapahoe County district attorney’s office said Wednesday that the two juveniles had been charged as adults.
Chalfant was shot early June 4 following an altercation in the fast food’s restaurant’s parking lot near East Hampden Avenue and South Tower Road.
When officers arrived, they found Chalfant suffering a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.
Police said they think the victim was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and at some point during the altercation, he was shot.
According to online jail records for Banks, he was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail on June 19. Because of their ages, jail records for the other two were not immediately available.

The DA is obligated to the citizens of Aurora to try Calvin Banks, 18, Sterling Hook, 17, and Vincent Rucker, 16 as adults…..Let these young men spend the next 50-80 years of their lives in lockup.
