AURORA | Police said they are looking for three suspects in a shooting Monday in northeast Aurora that left a 16-year-old boy in critical condition.
The shooting happened shortly after 2 p.m. in an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Genoa Street, police said.
When officers arrived, they found the boy wounded with a gunshot. He was rushed to an area hospital where he underwent surgery, police said.
Police said they are looking for three suspects. The first is a Hispanic or dark-complected male, about 5-feet-8-inches tall, wearing bluejeans with inch-long hair. The second is a heavy-set Hispanic male, about 5-feet-10-inches tall, wearing a blue shirt and tan pants. The third is described only as a “skinny” male.
Investigators are also searching for a red 2006 Dodge Charger with two black racing stripes across the trunk, roof and hood, police said. If anyone sees a vehicle matching the description, police caution not approach it and instead call the authorities.
Police are also looking for two people who may have been witnesses to the shooting and released surveillance images of them.
