AURORA | Both Aurora school districts and Arapahoe County offices are on delayed schedules Friday because of snow and cold.

Aurora Public Schools, including Pickens Technical College, will operate on a two-hour delayed start, according to school district officials.

Students should arrive at school two hours later than usual, and school buses will also run on a two-hour delay.

APS morning session preschool has been canceled for Friday. Afternoon preschool classes are on schedule.

Schools will end the day at regular times, and grab-and-go breakfast options will be available for students when they arrive at school, officials said.

APS teachers and staff are expected to report to work at their normal time, or as soon as they can, APS spokesperson Corey Christiansen said in a statement.

The Cherry Creek School District is also on a weather-related delay schedule.

Elementary school bus pickups and start times are delayed 60 minutes. Middle and high school schedules will begin 90 minutes later than usual, according to Cherry Creek officials.

Before-school child care will remain on its normal schedule in Cherry Creek.

Arapahoe County government offices will open at 10 a.m., with the exception of county courts, which will follow a two-hour delay schedule today.

Aurora and Adams County governments have not posted weather-related information or made announcements.

The National Weather Service predicts snow ending later this morning, a high near 40 today and warming across the weekend.

The weather service reports between 4 inches and 7 inches of snow in the Aurora area fell in the last 24 hours.
