CENTENNIAL | Lawyers for the man charged in the Colorado theater shooting are objecting to the city of Aurora’s request to lift a judge’s gag order.
The city said last month that it has received several requests from emergency responders around the county for details on how city officials managed the July 20 attack. The city also has received requests from media, academics and individuals for items including recordings of 911 calls.
The city contends the gag order is moot after prosecutors presented details of their evidence against James Holmes at a preliminary hearing. Holmes is charged with killing 12 people and injuring dozens of others in the attack.
In their objection filed Tuesday, Holmes’ attorneys cite their client’s right to a fair trial.
There’s no indication when a judge might rule on the issue.
And the attorneys for the shooter are concerned he might not receive a fair trial. . how sad! He killed 12 and injured many many others, and he thinks he deserves a fair trial! He didnt give his victims anything fair.
Give him the same fair trial he gave the people he killed.Shoot First an ask questions later. Thats the fair trial he gave them.
