Accused theater shooter James Holmes mailed a notebook full detailing his plans for the massacre to an area psychiatrist, Fox News is reporting.

According to the report, Holmes sent the notebook to the doctor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus sometime this month.

The notebook included diagrams and stick-figure drawings of the shootings.

Because of a gag order in Holmes’ criminal case, police and prosecutors are barred from discussing any details.

University of Colorado officials, also citing the gag order, said they could comment on the specifics of the notebook.

In general, the university said in a statement, CU centrally receives mail from the United States Postal Service and then delivers the mail to the address on the Anschutz Medical Campus the same day it is received.

“For example, mail delivered on a Friday is delivered on Friday. The University’s mail service is not open on Saturday. Saturday mail is sorted and delivered  Monday morning. The University does not log or track mail/packages unless it requires a signature from the United States Postal Service,” the statement said.

Holmes, 24 was arrested a short time after the July 20 shootings that left 12 dead and 58 injured at the Century Aurora 16 theater. He is being held in Arapahoe County Jail and is due in court Monday for formal filing of charges.

Reports have said Holmes has acted strangely since his arrest moments after the shooting. KMGH-TV in Denver, citing a law enforcement source, reported that after Holmes placed evidence bags over Holmes’ hands to preserve gunshot residue evidence, he began using the bags like sock puppets.

ABC News reported that Holmes has been spiting at detention officers at the Arapahoe County Jail so often that officers have had to use a spit guard when transporting him.
