AURORA | Among Colorado’s biggest cities, Aurora is the worst place to drive, according to a new report.
When it comes to safe driving, Allstate Insurance Company’s “America’s Best Drivers Report” ranked Aurora No. 70 on a list of the country’s 200 largest cities.
That’s down 16 spots from 2012 and puts Aurora behind Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and Denver/Lakewood which were lumped together in the Allstate report.
Fort Collins was named the safest place to drive in the country, just ahead of Boise, Idaho, and Sioux Falls, S.D.
The report is based on Allstate claims data and ranks cities in terms of car-collision frequency.
In Aurora, drivers are likely to go 9.8 years between collisions, compared to 13.9 years in Fort Collins. The national average is 10 years.
Washington, D.C. was the worst place to drive in country last year, with an accident on average every 4.8 years.
