AURORA | Police say they don’t yet know what led to two unidentified men being shot and injured Saturday night in northwest Aurora.

Police were called to the 1900 block of Dayton Street at about 8 p.m. after reports of a shooting there.

“Officers located an adult male with life-threatening injuries,” police spokesperson Agent Matthew Longshore said in a statement. “He was transported to the hospital.”

Investigators said it appears the man was driving on East 19th Avenue between Dallas and Dayton streets when he was shot.

“A short time later, officers were notified that another adult male self-transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm,” Longshore said.

His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

“Circumstances leading up to the shooting are not yet known and investigators are working to determine the exact involvement of those shot,” Longshore said.

Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
