AURORA | Police are looking for leads into who shot and injured a man yesterday afternoon found lying on a northwest Aurora street.

Officers were called to the 1900 block of Clinton Street at about 2 p.m. after reports of a man lying in the street.

Rescuers determined the man had been shot and he was taken to a nearby hospital.

Police said the man’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

“The Gun Violence Suppression Team responded and is leading the active and ongoing investigation,” Aurora police spokesperson Agent Kristopher McDowell said in a statement.

No other details about the shooting were released.

Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
