AURORA | Police are asking the public for help finding a 16-year-old girl who has been missing for a week.

Lashaya Nae Stine was last seen around 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 15 near East Montview Blvd. and Peoria Street in Northwest Aurora, police said. Her family has not seen or heard from her since and police said the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit is asking for the public’s help.
The department said Friday afternoon that the Citizen Missing/Abducted Response Team (CMART) is assisting with the search.
The team of citizen volunteers trained to search for missing people are in the area where she was last seen and are passing out flyers, police said.
Later this afternoon the department’s Emergency Response Team will do an additional canvas in that area, police said.
Police are asking anyone who sees Lashaya to call 911 immediately and anyone who has seen her in the past week to call Detective Sergeant Bob Wesner at 303-739-6093.
