DENVER | Denver police are searching for the person who fatally shot a cab driver early Saturday.
Authorities have identified the victim as 49-year-old Darren Bloomquist.
Police say Bloomquist was found dead near Green Valley Ranch shortly after 4:30 a.m. He had been sent to that address to pick up a fare, and police went to check on him at the request of Metro Taxi, where he worked for four years.
Denver police haven’t released any suspect information, and don’t know why the taxi driver was targeted.
Authorities say there were very few witnesses to the crime, which happened in a quiet neighborhood on a holiday weekend.
