AURORA | Police are searching for a driver who dragged a police officer about 20 yards while trying to flee a traffic stop Sunday, April 3.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. when an officer tried to stop a vehicle near South Buckley Road and East Exposition Avenue. Police believed a wanted man was riding in the car.
When the officer contacted the driver, the driver sped off.
The officer injured his head, leg, and foot, police said, and was treated and released from an area hospital.
Police later found the vehicle in the 16700 block of East Tennessee Avenue and the passenger, but have not found the driver, who police described as a black man in his early 20s.
