Investigators are unsure if the shooting was part of a robbery or some other dispute.

Police described the suspect as a black male, in his 20s, standing between 5-feet 7-inches tall and 5-feet 9-inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds with a one-inch “afro”-style haircut. The man was wearing a black hoodie with a blue bandana over his face, light blue jeans and white tennis shoes, police said.

Investigators don’t know if the man fled in a car or by foot, but he was last seen running toward the rear of the store. The victim, whose name was not released, was seriously injured in the shooting, police said. Police said Monday morning that the clerk is expected to survive.
