AURORA | Police are asking for the public for details in a Saturday night shooing in central Aurora that led to one man’s injuries and another man’s arrest.
Police were called to Louisiana Purchase condos in the 10100 block of East Arkansas Drive at about 6:15 p.m. after reports there of a shooting outside of residences.

“Officers contacted both the suspect and victim on the scene,” police said.
The victim, a 43-year-old unidentified man, suffered “serious injuries” and was taken to a nearby hospital. He is expected to survive, police said.
Police arrested 35-year-old Johnathon Nelson.
“There was apparently a verbal argument leading up to the shooting,” police said Saturday in a social media post. “Officers do not believe anyone else is outstanding.”
Police said Nelson faces charges of first-degree assault. Arapahoe County jail records show he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond. He is scheduled for a court appearance March 14.
Police are asking anyone with security camera footage of the area and shooting, or any witnesses that have not already talked to police, to call.
Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.

So, was this man legally able to have and use a gun? Did he have prior interactions with the police and courts? Why is the bail so low for a person who is charged with assault with a gun?
Unfortunately I’m his ex wife and I know a lot of balls that was dropped at this point.
“First degree assault”? He shot somebody! That part is undisputed. How about Attempted Murder and no bail! COME ON, COLORADO!!!! I’m a Democrat who’s sick and tired of how we cater to criminals here. It has gotten us a crime rate above the national average, and made life very dangerous and stressful. We can be a liberal state AND reasonable on crime, too! REALLY! We all have rights, not just the criminals.
