AURORA |Two gunman opened fire inside an Aurora bank during a robbery Monday morning, police said.
Nobody was injured during the heist at the US Bank near East Colfax Avenue and Havana Street, police said.
The robbers wore masks over their faces and hoodies, police said, and robbed the bank shortly after it opened at 9 a.m.
After they stole an undisclosed amount of money, the two gunman ran out the same back door they entered through, police said.
Police said the gunmen didn’t fire at any of the customers or employees and investigators believe the gunfire was just a means of intimidation.
Witnesses described the suspects as black males in their late teens or early 20s
Several schools in the area were locked down following the robbery, police said.
