DENVER | Denver police have arrested a man who said he wanted to turn himself in after a collision killed a pedestrian near City Park.
Police found a man with multiple injuries near East 17th Avenue and Garfield Street around 9 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses said a dark SUV with front-end damage left the scene. The victim later was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The Denver Medical examiner on Monday identified the victim as 48-year-old Shawn Crane of Denver.
On Monday, Aurora police received a call from someone saying he wanted to turn himself in.
Denver police say 47-year-old Mark D Deleon is being held for investigation of charges including vehicular homicide in connection with the collision.
