AURORA | A six-week-old girl remains hospitalized with a fractured skull after a high-speed crash Monday morning near Parker Road and East Lehigh Avenue, police said.

The driver who police say caused the crash, 21-year-old William Page, III of Denver, is also hospitalized with serious injuries, police said. Aurora police Lt. Chuck DeShazer said Page’s injuries are so severe that doctors in an intensive care unit put him in a medically-induced coma.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. when police say Page was speeding north on Parker Road going at least 85 mph. Witnesses said he may have been going as fast as 100 mph, DeShazer said.

Near Lehigh he struck a Dodge Caliber, causing both vehicles to roll.

Page was ejected during the crash and later rushed to a hospital.

The driver of the Dodge, Shalimar McComas, 35, of Aurora, and her infant daughter Lizbeth were bother hurt in the crash as well. DeShazer said Shalimar McComas has since been released from the hospital and is now with hr daughter, who remains in an intensive care unit with a skull fracture.

Police said McComas had just dropped her husband off at work at the time of the crash. Reports that Page and McComas knew each other are false, police said.

Parker Road’s northbound lanes were closed from about 2:15 a.m. until shortly after 9 a.m., snarling much of the morning commute on the south end of Aurora.
