AURORA | Police say a 7-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the head Thursday at a home on North Vaughn Street.

The boy was rushed to an area hospital; his condition was not immediately released.

In a press conference this afternoon in front of the home in the 1000 block of Vaughn, Aurora police spokesman Sgt. Chris Amsler said police are in the very early stages of the investigation. So far, police believe there were several children involved but they aren’t sure how many adults were in the home at the time.

Police said further details will be released as the investigation continues.

  1. The shooting of a 7 year old by either himself or another child (unclear from news story) is not accidental … it’s a case of criminal negligence by the adult gun owner or the adult responsible for supervising the children’s activities.
