AURORA | One man is dead and another gravely injured after two unidentified men opened fire inside a northwest Aurora apartment early Friday.
Officers initially reported that the two injured men appeared to have shot each other just after midnight inside a unit at the Abrigio Apartments, 12170 E. 30th Ave, but police updated that report later Friday morning.
“It has been learned that two unidentified suspects came to the apartment and fired shots at the victims, striking them both,” Aurora police spokesperson Agent Matthew Longshore said in a statement. “The initial information about the men shooting each other was found to be inaccurate.”
Neither of the shooting victims were identified.
Both of the shooting victims were rushed to local hospitals. One of the men died there from his injuries, police said.
No information about the shooting suspects was released, and no arrests have been made as of 7 a.m. Friday.

Competing noise from shootings against the illegal fireworks past midnight going off everywhere in north Aurora how are we to recognize a few random gun shots anymore? Those apartments 12170 E. 30th are located one block from the Aurora Rescue Fire station #3 on 31st and Peoria.
