AURORA | Police say a motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night — Aurora’s 17th automobile fatality of the year — when he was struck by a car on South Sable Boulevard.
According to Aurora police, the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sable and East Bayaud Avenue.
Police said witnesses told them a motorcycle headed east on Bayaud Avenue tried to make a left turn onto northbound Sable before the light turned green.
A black Dodge Durango headed south on Sable slammed into the motorcycle and sent the rider to the pavement.
Police said the motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head injuries. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Police said they do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. The name of deceased motorcyclist has not been released.
