AURORA | A pair of prolific robbers dubbed the Milli Vanilli Bandits for the long braided wigs they wore during some of their crimes were arrested Friday in Aurora.

Derrick Ervin, 29, and Jeremy Ervin, 33, were arrested on several robbery charges Dec. 6 in Aurora, a Denver police spokeswoman said. It wasn’t immediately clear if the suspects are related.

While the pair were arrested in Aurora, all 13 robberies the FBI said the pair are suspects in occurred in Denver.

According to the FBI, the pair robbed a variety of businesses, including sandwich shops, an auto parts store and a hotel. The robbers brandished pistols during the robberies, according to the FBI.

The first robbery happened Nov. 9 at a Subway restaurant on East Colfax Avenue. An hour later the pair robbed an O’Reilly’s auto parts store a few miles away.

Several times the pair robbed multiple businesses in a single day.

The string of robberies continued at least until Nov. 29, when the pair robbed a Quality Inn hotel on Peoria Street near the border between Denver and Aurora.

The FBI listed 13 robberies the pair are suspects in, but Denver police said they could be responsible for as many as 15.
