AURORA | The Aurora Veterans Affairs Commission is hosting a Memorial Day Commemoration at 11:30 a.m. May 28 on the east side of the Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway, near the flag poles (Chambers Road side.)

The ceremony commemorates those military men and women who fought and died to preserve our freedom and security. It will feature a bagpipe serenade by the Michael Collins Drum and Pipe Band, performances of the national anthem by Hannah Judson of William C. Hinkley High School and “Taps” by Aurora Police officer Jason Petrucelli. It will also include an address by Capt. Leith Wimmer, commander of the Navy Operations Support Center at Buckley Air Force Base, and an F-16 flyover. The public is invited to attend.
