AURORA | An unidentified man told police he was shot and injured by someone in a passing car early Saturday while walking in northwest Aurora, according to Aurora police.
Police were called the 1200 block of Dallas Street at about 1:45 a.m. after reports of shots fired in the area.
A short time later, officials at a nearby hospital told police a man had come into the emergency department seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.
“The man stated that shots were fired from a silver sedan while he was walking in the area,” he told police. “A separate vehicle drove up to officers in the area and stated that their car had also been shot.”
Police said no one in the car was injured.
No suspects have been identified, and it’s unclear at this point whether the shooter and victims were known to each other.
“No other details about the silver sedan are known,” police said.
Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.

why is it we can’t get a new police chief? Perhaps we should consider a civilian ‘commissioner’ instead???
