AURORA | Aurora police are seeking information on a suspect in a Sunday night, Jan. 17, shooting at a townhome parking lot that left one man dead.
In a news release Monday, police said officers responded about 9:16 p.m. Sunday to a parking lot on the 12000 block of East Ford Circle near the intersection of East Tennessee Avenue and South Peoria Street on a report of shots fired. An adult man was found in the lot with multiple gunshot wounds; he later died after being transported to a nearby hospital.
Police investigators say it’s unclear what led to the shootings, but that a dark-colored SUV is believed to be a suspect vehicle in the incident.
The identity of the victim is pending positive identification by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office and notification of next of kin.
Detectives from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit have taken over the investigation.
