Sgt. Chris Amsler, an Aurora police spokesman, said officers were called about 9:45 p.m. Dec. 25 to a reported shooting at 20157 E. Dartmouth Drive. One adult man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The man later died after being taken to a local hospital. His identity has not been released pending positive identification by the Arapahoe County Coroner and notification of next of kin.

Aurora police investigators said they believe there was “some type of altercation” at the home prior to the shooting. The suspect, Phi Pham, fled the scene after the incident. Pham, 33, was later arrested and faces a first-degree murder charge.

The Major Crimes/Homicide Unit are handling the case.
