AURORA | Police say a woman may have been intoxicated when she fatally struck a man crossing Interstate 225 Sunday night before speeding away.
The woman, Tashima Littleton, 30, of Denver, was arrested a short time later near East Sixth Avenue and Moline Street.
The man, whose name hasn’t been released, later died at an area hospital.
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the southbound lanes of I-225 between I-70 and the East 17th Place exit.
Aurora police Lt. Jeff Turner said the man was riding with his girlfriend when she let him out of the car for some reason. The girlfriend told police she let the man out at the right shoulder and then drove off.
Turner said witnesses saw the man at the left shoulder and trying to cross back to the right shoulder when he was struck.
“Why he was going back and forth across the road I don’t know,” Turner said.
Police believe the man was intoxicated when he was struck.
Littleton didn’t stop when she struck the man, Turner said.
A witness followed Littleton’s and called police with the Suburban’s license plate and police arrested her.
Turner said Littleton will likely face charges for leaving the scene of a crash and for driving drunk. But because the man killed was likely at fault for the crash, Turner said she won’t face more serious charges such as vehicular homicide.

I knew Nick as well he did not deserve to go out like that he will truly be missed by everyone who’s lives he touch and my thoughts go out to his family
well he’s 22, im his biological sister.. he’s going to be missed but never forgotten
Stating the victims name is really not appropriate, friend or not. His family needs to be notified and I’m sure they would appreciate things being kept confidential for the time being.
Family has been notified, last night. We’re all very close. People grieve in different ways. Really not trying to start a fight, but just let her be. It’s a tough time for all of us.
thanks Random!
okay well they were notified so thanks.
But…why would he cross the highway……..either way?…….
ALBERT, OMG I can’t believe it when Rocco told me. I am so sorry for your loss. MY HEART ACHES FOR U & UR FAMILY. LET US KNOW IF WE CAN DO ANYTHING.
She should not of left him, you don’t leave someone out in the cold one and two not on the hwy!!!!!! We miss you kid.
If you knew her you would understand why he ran away
Just saw Nick last week, talked about old times at school and his girl – I can’t believe he’s gone. God bless his family
Why did his lady do that? Sad thing is, on her facebook, there is not one thing about Nick except for tagged things. She changed her pro pic to her and her homegirl. Something else is going on that she doesn’t seem to care. R.I.P. Nick, you will definitely be missed!
I’d hit
This is so sad
Im so upset about this. And blame NAME REDACTED BY EDITOR BECAUSE IT’S NOT CONFIRMED BY POLICE for this. How could you drop him off and just leave like that! He is your boyfriend that you supposedly love so much but dump him off like a piece of trash. They were fighting as usual. We all know how kass gets when shes drunk. Not one thing has been said by her NOTHING. I heard his parents are upset at her as well. I just don’t get it. At all! RIP NICK
