AURORA | An 18-year-old man is in jail on a murder charge after a Wednesday night shooting that left one juvenile dead and another wounded in north Aurora.
Aurora police said officers responded to 1568 Nome St. around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a weapons offense.
There, police said they found two juveniles who had been shot and rushed them to the hospital. One of the juveniles later died.
Police said James Jason Lee, who turned 18 last month, was arrested on a first-degree murder charge. No other suspects are being sought.
The names of the victims have not been released, nor has Lee’s mugshot. Police are asking anyone with information to call Detective Mark Yacano at 303-739-6090.
I’ve spent some time in that neighborhood working with at-risk kids. It’s a bleak place to grow up.
Huge numbers killed this holiday weekend around the nation, and it’s not over yet. The BLM crew should be out protesting.
