AURORA | Police said a 30-year-old man arrested late Wednesday shot and killed a man earlier that day in the parking lot of a north-Aurora apartment complex.
Police arrested Edin Samuel Yanez-Orellana in connection with the shooting at 7:30 a.m. outside an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Blackhawk Street.

“When officers arrived at the scene, they located a man who appears to be in his 30s suffering from a gunshot wound,” Aurora police spokesperson Joe Moylan said in a statement Wednesday. “The man was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.”
He was later determined to be 23, police said Thursday. He will be identified later by coroner officials.
Police said the arrest was the culmination of work between the APD Fugitive Unit and FBI Safe Streets program, and Yanez-Orellana was arrested near the 1600 block of South Sable Boulevard.
He now faces charges of second-degree murder, police said, which will be filed in the 17th Judicial District.
No other details were released.
Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
