AURORA | A man died Thursday when the truck he was working on accidentally came out of park and rolled over him, police said.

According to Aurora police, the incident happened around 3:45 p.m. in the driveway of a home at 804 Kalispell St.

The 52-year-old man was under his truck working on it when the vehicle rolled and pinned him underneath. Family members saw the man and tried to free him from under the truck, police said. A neighbor saw the incident and used his truck to push the pinned man’s vehicle off of him.

When emergency crews arrived the man was free from under the truck and they rushed him to an area hospital, where he later died.

Police have not released the man’s name.

Investigators are trying to determine why the vehicle popped out of park, but there doesn’t appear to be anything criminal about the incident, police said.
