A body found in the front yard of a north Aurora home is that of a missing 23-year-old woman and her ex-boyfriend has been charged with murder, prosecutors said.

While prosecutors have charged German Medina, 23, with first-degree murder in connection with Bertha Garcia’s death, they still aren’t sure where he is.

Medina hasn’t been seen since he tried to borrow a gun from his brother Saturday night, a short time before Garcia was last seen.

Police said Medina is from Mexico and living here illegally. They said they are worried he could flee to Mexico.

Officials have not yet said how Garcia was killed.

Medina is 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has black hair, brown eyes, and a thin beard. He may be driving a black Lexus with Colorado license plate 339-WDJ.

Police are asking anyone with information about Garcia or Medina to call  Detective Tom Sobieski at 303-739-6710 or call 911.  Callers can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). Tipsters can earn a reward of up to $2,000.
