DENVER | A man identified as a person of interest in two deadly home invasions is facing murder and attempted murder charges after two people were killed and another injured in two homes in the Black Forest area northeast of Colorado Springs.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says Kenneth Lankford is suspected of fatally shooting Terry Lankford in her home and Carol Fowler in her home. Fowler’s husband, Thomas, was shot and wounded, but reported in stable condition at a local hospital.
Lankford was arrested Sunday following an intensive manhunt. Authorities have not released any motive for the shootings.
