CENTENNIAL | A Saudi man is returning to a Colorado court asking to go home to serve probation for his conviction of sexually assaulting his Aurora  housekeeper and treating her as a virtual slave.

A hearing for Homaidan al-Turki resumes Thursday. It began last week.

Al-Turki is serving an indefinite sentence in a Colorado prison after his conviction in 2006. He wants to finish his term in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi officials promise to honor any terms imposed by Colorado. They say his treatment in Saudi Arabia would include family participation and Islamic and cultural education not available in Colorado.

Prosecutors are fighting the transfer. They question whether Saudi Arabia would provide effective supervision and whether al-Turki is a candidate for treatment since he has refused to participate in state prison programs.
