AURORA | An unidentified 55-year-old man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he drove his car into a tree in central Aurora, police said.

Police were called to the intersection of East Louisiana Avenue and South Dunkirk Street at about 3 p.m. after reports of a car crash there.

“The investigation later determined a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV left the road and collided with a tree,” Aurora Police spokesperson Agent Kristopher McDowell said in a statement. “The driver, a 55-year-old Aurora man, died from his injuries.”

No other details were provided. The identity of the man will be released by coroner officials.
