AURORA | A man suspected of supplying methamphetamine to a major northern Colorado drug ring is in custody after a police chase and multi-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Aurora.
Terry Romero, 31, is facing drug and weapons charges after the chase and crash around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Road and South Peoria Street.
While the crash happened in Aurora, it stemmed from a six-moth drug investigation in northern Colorado that has already resulted in several arrests in Longmont and other cities.
Longmont police Commander Jeff Satur, a spokesman for the department, said investigators believe Romero was the primary meth supplier for the drug ring and was one of the last suspects who remained on the run before last night.
Satur said officers were following Romero when he tried to flee, slamming his car into several vehicles then crashing and fleeing on foot before being arrested. When police apprehended him, Romero had a .45 caliber pistol in his car and five ounces of meth, Satur said.
Satur said nobody was seriously injured in the crash.
