TELLURIDE | Telluride town officials are looking into whether they can tighten gun-control ordinances without running afoul of state and federal laws.
The Telluride Daily Planet reported Saturday (https://tinyurl.com/awyxswc ) the review began at the request of Town Council member Thom Carnevale.
The council had passed a resolution endorsing tougher federal regulations and Mayor Stu Fraser was among mayors nationwide who signed a letter urging President Barack Obama to pass stricter regulations.
Carnevale says he wants the town to go further.
Town Attorney Kevin Geiger will research the issue and report back to the council.

The first bank that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid robbed was in Telluride. Don’t you believe that stricter gun laws might make the town easier to rob again?
