The founder of a charity that helps homeless kids is facing child sex assault charges and police say they are looking for other potential victims.
Richard Lee Koca, Sr., 69, was arrested Saturday and charged with felony sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, police said.
The charge stems from “acts with a child he was supervising in Aurora,” police said, but investigators believe there may be additional possible victims.
In 1990 Koca founded Stand up for Kids, a national non-profit that helps at risk and homeless youth. The group’s website was down Tuesday afternoon.
Koca, a Navy veteran, was stationed all over the country and worked with children in various cities, police said.
Police said the investigation into Koca started Aug. 29
Koca is being held in the Arapahoe County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.

this is bogus ive know this man for 15 years .I sat on that board.the coment below if it was you shouldnt we wait to see if it true or should we hang him now. that man has helped hundreds of thousands of kids. and he never was paid a dime in 20 years. he started this company with nothing and built it up in 35 cities 9000 vol.now what because of this its over. rick has retired a coulpe of years ago but that dosnt seem to matter and i am afraid the organization is over because of this. ive worked with felons in my company and the MO dosnt fit for mr. koca. it is easy to say it happened hard to prove. I have know a lot of people that were accussed of this and they didnt do it and it still ruined their lives. all you have to do is say it and your guilty. Below i hope this dosent happen to you. innocent or guilty you are over. what ever you do dont take in account he served in the navy for 30 years and gave 20 years to help kids. he’s just guilty. why dont you go to salem Mass i am sure there are still witches you can burn.
