AURORA | A judge has agreed to a request from James Holmes’ lawyers to push back a hearing on whether prosecutors should be sanctioned after reported leaks of information.
But, in his motion handed down Wednesday and unsealed today, Judge William Sylvester said the two sides still need to appear in court Oct. 25 to schedule other matters.
Holmes’ defense team early this week filed a motion saying they won’t be prepared for the Oct. 25 hearing because of the mountain of evidence they still must review and because they have had to respond to a request from the media.
The defense said the attention they’ve paid to the media’s requests to open typically unsealed documents has taken time away from other important matters.
Prosecutors didn’t object to the request for a delay.

They need to pay attention to their job and quit dragging this out so people can have some kind of closure. For Shame!!!! The victims in this case have been hurt enough, don’t keep dragging it out forever! Not fair to them at all.
