CENTENNIAL | Somebody claiming to be a victim of the Aurora theater shootings filed a bizarre motion in Arapahoe County court, saying James Holmes was framed by the “illuminati.”

The name of the person filing the motion was redacted, but the writer said they were one of the victims wounded in the July 20 shootings at the Century Aurora 16 theater.

In a response to the motion, Judge William Sylvester said whoever filed the motion used the name of an actual victim, but after consulting with that victim investigators believe the motion was filed by an impostor.

Sylvester said he had concerns for the mental health of whoever filed the motion and had forwarded it to the Arapahoe County sheriff’s office as well as the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services.

The one-paragraph motion was mailed Aug. 27 and is rife with typographical errors.

The writer claims police and prosecutors came to their house and ordered them to testify against Holmes, or they would face prostitution and charity fraud charges.

Holmes is facing more than a hundred charges, including multiple counts of first-degree murder, for the shootings that left 12 dead and 58 injured. He is being held in the Arapahoe County Jail and is due in court Sept. 20.
