Feel free to toss those hot dogs and hamburgers on your grill, Aurora.
Even with a statewide fire ban in place, Aurora fire officials clarified today that residents who want to cook food on their charcoal or propane grills are welcome to, they just ask grillers to be safe.
Capt. Al Robnett, a spokesman for Aurora fire, said grills at single family homes are allowed. Grillers aren’t allowed, however, to use those grills at public spaces like parks.
Other burning, such as open fire pits and chimeneas, are not allowed, Robnett said.
The concern with those types of fires, Robnett said, is that even though they are somewhat contained, they can easily spread fire elsewhere.
“When you throw logs on there, it releases embers that can float off,” he said.
Fireworks of all types remain illegal in Aurora and around the state.

Thank you for the clarification…
