ENGLEWOOD | A funeral service and police procession are scheduled for Friday for an Englewood officer who died after he was struck by a hit-and-run SUV.
Officer Jeremy Bitner was killed and a motorist he had pulled over was injured when both were hit shortly after midnight Monday.
Police say the SUV drove off. Officers found it and the driver several miles away.
Twenty-year-old Conner Donohue was arrested. He was being held on $100,000 bond on suspicion of vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence.
The injured motorist was identified as 20-year-old Kevin Montoya of Littleton. His family says he is improving.
