AURORA | A Sentinel Colorado story posted briefly on Friday erroneously detailed how former Aurora Public Schools board member Eric Nelson is still a Democratic candidate for House District 42 in Aurora.

Nelson was a candidate for the nomination to the House District seat earlier this year. He has a website indicating his candidacy, and he is listed as an “active” candidate with the Colorado Secretary of State, but his name does not appear on the ballot.

Nelson was previously censured by fellow school board members for pretending to be a decorated Air Force veteran and falsifying academic credentials.

We regret the error.

  1. “Dr. Nelson is a Certified Addiction Counselor I” according to his political website. Looks like his addiction is uncontrollable lying.
