AURORA | The FBI is looking for a what investigators believe is a group of two-three armed bank robbers who hit three Aurora banks in recent months.

The first robbery happened Nov. 10 at a US Bank branch at 2990 S. Peoria St. The FBI said two armed men, described as black males standing about 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds with medium builds, robbed the bank before fleeing.

On Dec. 22, armed men robbed the TCF Bank at 1710 S. Havana St. The FBI described them as black men, 20 to 30 years old, between 5 -feet 9-inches and  6-feet tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds, with thin builds.

On Jan. 18 three armed men, standing between 5-feet 7-inches and 5-feet 9-inches tall with medium builds, robbed the Security Services Federal Credit Union at 2150 S. Peoria St.

All three robberies happened late in the business day, the FBI said, between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The FBI said the same men, who investigators have dubbed the “Second Hand Bandits,” committed all three robberies.
