AURORA | A fatal-shooting suspect evading police Friday night “fell out of the moving vehicle” he was driving, causing his car to crash, sending him to the hospital.

Police were called to the 3600 block of Zeno Way at about 10:45 pm. after reports of gunfire.

“When officers arrived, an adult male was seen fleeing in a vehicle,” police said in a social media post.

Additional officers arriving on scene pursued the suspect as he drove away.

“When the suspect made a turn, (he) fell out of the moving vehicle,” police said. “The car subsequently crashed nearby.”

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The man who was shot was treated at the scene of the shooting. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his shooting injuries.

The suspect, faced first-degree murder charges.

The shooting victim will be identified by coroner officials at a later date.
