AURORA | Two people were shot, one fatally, early Friday during a shooting in north-central Aurora that turned into a police chase along snowy streets into Denver.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at about 3 a.m. somewhere along the 14600 block of East Second Avenue.
One woman died from her gunfire injuries and another person was wounded by gunshots, police said.
“Three suspects sped away from the scene in a moving truck and were pursued by patrol officers until the truck became stuck in the snow near E470 and Peña (Boulevard) in Denver,” Aurora police spokesperson Joy Moylan said in a statement. “The suspects tried to run. All three were quickly taken into custody.”
One of the suspects was also shot at some point, but the suspect was not shot by police, Moylan said.
Details about the suspects was not released.
Both shooting victims were taken to a hospital. The unidentified woman died there from her gunshot injuries. The other person is being treated.
Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
